Recognising ethical practice of the highest standard

Only an equine professional or establishment who has a high standard of ethical practice, putting the welfare of the equine at the core of what they do may display the logo and be added to the directory.  Our members commit to using no methods or equipment that cause pain or fear and have agreed to abide by our guiding principles. These guiding principles set the criteria of standards for Progressive Equine Partnerships.

We work to include all professionals who have the welfare of the equine at the core of what they do, however it your responsibility as the owner/carer to employ members who work in line with your personal beliefs. We strongly recommend that you seek to fully understand the ethos of your chosen professional, ensure they are sufficiently qualified/experienced and insured.

Professionals and Establishments who are approved to use our logo are committed to staying up to date with the latest scientific research relevant to there field of expertise.

All professionals put the welfare of the equine at the core of what they do. Choose an approved Progressive Equine Professional. Your horse will thank you for it!

Monitored

Professionals who are found to be in breach of our guiding principles will be removed from the directory and consent to use our logo will be withdrawn.

Members pledge

By applying to be affiliated with PEP as a progressive equine professional or establishment, members pledge to:

  • Always hold the equines welfare as their top priority.
  • Always seek to do no harm.
  • Not use any equipment with the intention of causing pain, fear or restriction of physical ability.
  • Use their knowledge and skills for the benefit of equines and their owners.
  • Commit to continued professional development and agree to keep up to date with the latest scientific research within their field of expertise.
